History:
Matriculated from the Deutsche Internationale Schule in Johannesburg in 1977. Studied a 4 year Higher Diploma in Education at the Randse Afrikaanse University. Got married and raised 3 beautiful children, during which time she had her own swim school at home in Saldanha on the West coast.
Moved to Knysna in 1996, where she started giving swimming lessons at the local swimming club and assisted in the swimming at Knysna Primary School. In 2000 she got a grade 5 teaching post, which she held for 3 years. In 2005 she was appointed to an English grade 7 post and she is currently teaching Maths, EMS and Life Orientation.

Geskiedenis:
Hy is in Groot Brakrivier op 2 November 1951 gebore waar hy sy Laerskool loopbaan voltooi het aan die Laerskool Vorentoe. Hy matrikuleer in 1969 aan Hoërskool Punt.
Na skool is hy weermag toe vir een jaar. Vanaf 1971 tot 1973 het hy aan die Onderwyskollege by Oudtshoorn studeer.
Sy eerste onderwyspos was by die Laerskool Wildernishoogte, 'n plaasskooltjie. Vanaf 1976 is ek verbonde aan die Laerskool Knysna. Aan die einde van 2009 sal hy 34 jaar diens by hierdie skool hê. In 1983 is hy aangestel as departementshoof en vanaf 2003 is hy die onderhoof.
Hy is nog van die leerkragte wat glo aan Christelike dissipline en harde werk! Sy filosofie is dat hy homself sien as 'n rolspeler vir die leerders en mede leerkragte. Met God se bystand hoop hy om bogenoemde doelwit uit te leef!
Hy is trots om deel van Laerskool Knysna te wees waar die leuse, Porro (Vorentoe), verwesenlik word!!
MNR. LEON SMITH (Eng)

History:
Originally from Johannesburg and matriculated in 1994. After school he took a two year gap and spent it on a wonderful kibbutz in Israel, where he travelled extensively around Israel and Egypt. After he returned home, he studied for 4 years at the Teachers’ College Pretoria and went to teach in Hsinchu City, Taiwan and stayed there for 5 years. In England he taught at a Northwest London private school for five years.
He now teaches at KPS as he always had a soft spot for Knysna - thanks to memorable family holidays here.
He likes the diversity of learners and cultures.
