Learners are assessed continuously throughout the year both informally and formally. Formal Assessment incorporates a variety of assessment techniques to enable a learner to show evidence that he\she has mastered a particular skill, concept etc.
These may include research projects, assignments, oral presentations, mind mapping, posters, tables, project work reports, models etc. Learners are supplied with assessment criteria so that they are fully aware of what will be assessed.
Educators are regularly given opportunities to keep abreast with new curriculum trends by attending excellent Professional Growth Seminars. They also attend all workshops organized by the Western Cape Education Department. The school library has a very comprehensive supply of teaching methodology literature and materials, which are frequently updated. Guest speakers are often invited into classrooms to further stimulate and enrich enquiring minds.
The Intermediate Phase educators strive to use innovate teaching methods to make learning an enjoyable experience and give all learners an opportunity to archive personal academic success.
